Over 950 arts lovers, makers and supporters joined ArtsFund and the Mariners for Arts Night, on Friday, June 27 – an increase of more than 10% from last year’s inaugural event! The evening was a celebration of the vibrant arts community in our region and included a ceremonial first pitch by Lane Czaplinski, Artistic Director of On the Boards, a tremendous performance of the National Anthem by international opera singer (and Tacoma native) Robert McPherson, and live music from Centerpiece Jazz Band (Music Center of the Northwest) greeting fans inside the left field gate. The night ended with a Mariners victory – and a spectacular fireworks display high over Safeco Field – providing a fitting ending to an evening of arts, sports and community. Thanks to Safeco Insurance for their sponsorship of the Seattle Mariners ArtsNight T-shirts, a crowd-pleaser for all ArtsNight patrons.
