Revisit the Digital Celebration of the Arts
On September 17, 2020 ArtsFund hosted a digital event celebrating the resilience of the Puget Sound Region’s cultural community over the past 50 years. The event included performances by, Ahamefule J. Oluo, Justin Huertas and Company, Northwest Tap Connection, and musicians from Seattle Symphony, as well as artwork by Jeffry Mitchell and Youth in Focus. Award-winning arts journalist Marcie Sillman moderated a panel discussion about how arts organizations have been impacted by the pandemic, featuring arts leaders Samantha Kelly (Youth in Focus), Ellen Walker (Pacific Northwest Ballet), and Sharon Nyree Williams (Central District Forum for Arts and Ideas). In honor of our milestone, King County Executive Dow Constantine proclaimed also it ArtsFund 50th Anniversary Day in King County.
Thanks to all of the speakers, artists, performers, arts administrators, and donors who joined us for an uplifting celebration and helped raise over $265,000 for the cultural community! Revisit the event through the videos below.
