ArtsFund Awards $2.4M Thanks to 2016 Donors

With the close of Campaign 2016, ArtsFund awarded $2,399,918 in grants to 53 nonprofit arts groups in King and Pierce Counties. Thanks to the hundreds of businesses and thousands of individuals whose contributions made this possible. Last year, ArtsFund’s grants helped 55 arts organizations mount over 10,150 exhibitions and productions, provide arts access and arts education to 786,181 students, offer 1,499,229 free or discounted tickets, and attract 7,105,803 visits. Funds raised in Campaign ’17 will help us do even more.

Your gifts to ArtsFund, when distributed through our annual operating support grants, make a big difference in the region. Hear how from the leaders of Pacific Northwest Ballet, Wing Luke Museum, Seattle Theatre Group, and Seattle Repertory Theatre.

ArtsFund has affected our institution in every conceivable way since our founding nearly 45 years ago. There’s not an individual program that hasn’t been enhanced by ArtsFund’s support—Discover Dance, DanceChance, community outreach, company and orchestra. At the end of the day, PNB is proud to call itself a world class organization, and we have ArtsFund to thank for helping to get us there.”

Artistic Director
Pacific Northwest Ballet

“The grants we get from ArtsFund are probably twice as valuable as any program grant we get because they support far more than a singular part of our work. Our exhibits, neighborhood tours and community programs are all supported by these funds, which also enable us to run programs like our YouthCAN Teen Program, providing youth with hands-on opportunities to express themselves creatively and develop leadership and communication skills, while learning about their cultural heritage. ArtsFund is simply life-giving for The Wing and arts in the region!

Executive Director
Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience

“ArtsFund is one of Seattle Rep’s largest annual institutional funders. In addition to providing direct financial support for our artists and productions (as well as more mundane but equally critical things like power, water, telephones, etc.), this backing provides us with a powerful endorsement that helps to leverage support from other key institutional and individual donors. Indeed, because ArtsFund backs Seattle Rep to the hilt, others are encouraged to do so, too. In so many ways then, ArtsFund is a critical element of our financial structure—it’s the cornerstone in the arch, if you will—and enables us to bring the highest-quality theatre productions to more than 120,000 patrons each season.”

Jeffrey Herrmann
Managing Director
Seattle Repertory Theatre

“STG has a key goal of growing our Education & Community Programs resources between 2014-2019. ArtFund’s support has allowed us to deliver on our Key Goal. By way of example, this season we added AILEY CAMP to STG’s Education & Community Programs – a personal development camp for young people aged 11-14 in South King County. ArtsFund’s support, and that of their donors, inspires us and makes us realize we are not alone in believing that arts programs (like AILEY CAMP) build a better future for all.”

Josh LaBelle
Executive Director
Seattle Theatre Group

Revenues from ArtsFund’s 45th annual drive, which ended on May 31st, support the 2016 grant allocations, as well as additional programs and services reaching more than 100 organizations throughout the Central Puget Sound region.
