Annual Grants Bolster Sector Recovery & Reimagination

Thanks to the generous support of ArtsFund’s donors, this week we will distribute $2.2 million in annual grants to 66 nonprofit arts and cultural organizations across King and Pierce counties. With this allocation and including the Nonprofit Community Recovery (NCR) grants distributed earlier this week, ArtsFund has awarded nearly $98 million to over 650 arts and cultural nonprofits since its founding in 1969.

ArtsFund’s annual allocations grants are distributed as general operating support enabling grant recipients to invest the funds where needed most to advance their missions. This program works in tandem with our targeted grant making initiatives. While our targeted grant programs allow ArtsFund to invest resources around mission-central focus areas, ArtsFund’s flagship grant program supports individual organizational health and strengthens our local arts ecosystem as a network of complimentary and interdependent institutions that imbue the Puget Sound region with creativity and innovation.

Money raised during ArtsFund’s Campaign 2021, which runs through June 30, supports the 2021 grant allocations, as well as additional programs and services reaching nearly 150 organizations throughout the Central Puget Sound region. This support would not be possible without the individuals, businesses, and foundations who contributed to this year’s campaign.

Following a difficult year of closures, layoffs, and little to no earned revenue, arts and cultural organizations need substantial resources to meet the costs of reopening. With these grants, ArtsFund supporters will help bring artists and community members back together to celebrate, heal, and rebuild.
