ARTSFUND’S POWER2GIVE.ORG/PUGETSOUND CELEBRATES TWO YEAR IMPACTS
$848,854 raised, 3140 donors, 168 projects and growing!
Seattle, WA – On the two year anniversary of power2give.org/PugetSound, ArtsFund’s regional arts crowdfunding platform, ArtsFund announced the program’s impacts to date. Since the program launch on October 1, 2013, more than $848,000 has been generated to support 168 projects from 87 groups throughout three counties. Over 3100 donors have contributed to the site, with 40% of those donors being new to the posting organizations. To launch the first phase of power2give, ArtsFund has raised and distributed matching funds, awarded dollar for dollar, to incentivize and match these individual contributions.
Mari Horita, ArtsFund President & CEO, stated, “power2give/PugetSound is helping ArtsFund realize our goal of connecting more donors with more arts and cultural organizations across the Puget Sound. Two years ago we launched with 32 groups and projects, and we have since nearly tripled the number of participating groups and increased the number of projects funded by 500%. In the midst of this growth, we are especially pleased to be meeting our goal of attracting new donors to the sector.”
power2give/PugetSound gifts contribute to original programming and bring art to stages and venues throughout the state, provide greater access and unique experiences for both youth and adults, support arts education programs, fund artists commissions and residencies, and enable facilities improvements and enhancements to the audience experience. Sarah Sidman, ArtsFund Director of Strategic Initiatives & Communications, commented, “Each of 168 projects posted on the site presents a snapshot of both the work and the impact of individual arts organizations throughout the region. Together, the projects illustrate the broad reach and scope of our region’s arts and cultural sector, and the countless ways in which the arts strengthen our communities.”
Horita continued, “As we begin the 3rd year of power2give, our goals are to ensure the year-round posting opportunity for arts and cultural groups throughout the region, to continue to incentivize donors through the provision of matching funds, and to broaden the network and continue inviting new organizations to benefit from the opportunity.”
To meet these goals, ArtsFund will offer a $.50 match for projects posting on power2give/PugetSound as of October 1, 2015, subject to availability. Also on October 1, 2015, power2give/PugetSound will be refreshed with a new interface look and feel, with mobile ready functionality across platforms. These updates will provide enhancements to both the donor experience and the back end.
The Raynier Institute & Foundation is the founding matching sponsor and inaugural lead partner of power2give/PugetSound. Additional matching funds have been provided by: Amazon, The Bamford Foundation, The Estate of Jean Pringle Swanson, Little Big Show (KEXP, STG & Starbucks), Neiman Marcus, RD Merrill Co, Swedish Medical Center, Vijay and Sita Vashee, and a number of anonymous matching donors. Administrative support for power2give/PugetSound is provided by The Boeing Company.
